Some families have only one boy and one girl, one of each and they are happy that way too. everyone is different and have thier different reasons. Male honor also plays a huge role in it. Many guys dont want to girls, especially if they live in the west, because they feel that if they have girls raised in this enviornment, will turn into a skank, or sleep around with different guys, etc.

If he had left out the ravings in bold, the post would have been fine. Yes, when I read it, with the rants, it really did sound to me like the thought women deserve it. That's why I posted what I did. Then, instead of saying, "gee, I really didn't mean it that way" he acted like a jerk.

That's all. If you still don't get it, maybe you should drop the class. I'm not gunna spoon feed you on this any more.

Mods will only intervene if you are constantly being harassed by a person. Comebacks by people are inevitable (and we urge them [not force them] to show respect and adab in their replies). On the other hand, if you don't set yourself up for it, it would be useful

To an extent. You still have plenty of families, especially the wealthy ones, out there that want a son to carry on the family name. I even know of people who want a son first so that their subsequent daughters will have someone to protect them.
