The U of M in my hometown had restrooms with a private bathroom in it right next to the musallah aka meditation room which most muslims used for wudu. The largest hospital in town also has a private bathroom right next to the musallah.
Its definitely neat that they are accomadating to muslim needs and its nice to hear that muslim students are praying but at the same time its sad that they saw so many wet floors that it prompted them to make seperate arrangments. It only takes a couple of paper towels to wipe the floor clean. |

not sure, but its best to do a thorough wudu, so whatever it takes

Socks do have to be off, unless they're leather socks and you've already done wudu once that day.
Dunno about wetting hands and running them over your bare feet, but I don't see why not. (Chotoo, obviously if you have a knee problem and can't put your feet in the sink, then that's an exception right there.) Seriously though, it's not that hard to wash your feet in a sink. I'm short and I can still do it. It shouldn't get that messy, that there's a puddle of water all over the floor. As for putting wet feet back into your socks: duh, dry your feet off with paper towels first. And who cares about people walking in? It's dawah. :P

Good stuff.
Although, the thought of one sticking their foot in a sink is rude and disgusting to me. It's just totally uncalled for. ![]() shadha-

As-Salaamu 'Alaykum Wa Rahmatullaah,
Quote:
Ive been told that there are four conditions which must be applied when wiping the socks in order to purify oneself. (btw - there is daleel for each of these conditions but I'll skip it. If you still want to see the daleel for any condition, just let me know) 1. The first condition of be able to wipe over the socks is that one should be in the state of tahaarah or someone who is already pure (one already has wuduh). 2. The khufoof or leather socks ( or socks that cover the ankle) must be taahir as well. They cannot have any sort of impurity or naajis on the socks because one cannot pray with any naajis anyways. 3. One must only perform the wiping of the socks in order to purify oneself from minor impurities such as using the bathroom or passing wind. It cannot be anything that requires one to perform the ghusl. 4. The last condition is that if someone is not traveling, he can only wipe his socks for one day and one night as the time outlined by the Shari'ah. If one is a traveler, the time is in which he has to perform wuduh is 3 days and 3 nights. Thats brief and understandable I hope. ![]() Quote:
