for all you flag waving desis
this one goes out to all you pucca flag waving desis, who like to cheer on 'yay im soo proud to be desi, yay!", who wish to sing hindu muslim bhai bhai, please for the love of god, go stick a fricking bindhi right in the middle of your forehead and go sing 'dum maro dum, bolo subah shaam, hare krishna hare ram!". YouTube - Hare Rama Hare Krishna - Dum Maro Dum (gotta love the white hippies getting stoned in the beginning)
but watch this video here, jinnah saab telling his daughter 'it is against OUR customs, it is against OUR traditions", everything i ever believed was summed up by the qaid - i - azam in that once sentence right there - to his own daughter. it moves me to tears when i see it, and i have watched it a million times by now. what did he mean by 'our' customs? 'our' traditions? he meant MUSLIM customs, MUSLIM traditions.
"It is against OUR customs, OUR traditions, I have fought for a Muslim state, and my daughter marries outside the faith!".
YouTube - The Story of Jinnah, the Founder of Pakistan - Part 7 start watching from 3:45
Quote:

Chaudhry Rehmat Ali, a Muslim student at Cambridge coined the word "Pakistan" and found the Pakistan National Movement in 1933. He said, "The Mussalmans pass a history, a civilisation, a culture of their own. In our present struggle our back is to the wall ...... for us is a question of "to be or not to be,"
|
Address by Muhammad Ali Jinnah to the Muslim League, Lahore, 1940
Quote:
|
[[21]] A leading journal like the London Times, commenting on the Government of India Act of 1935, wrote that "Undoubtedly the difference between the Hindus and Muslims is not of religion in the strict sense of the word but also of law and culture, that they may be said indeed to represent two entirely distinct and separate civilisations
|
.
Quote:

[[23]] It is extremely difficult to appreciate why our Hindu friends fail to understand the real nature of Islam and Hinduism. They are not religions in the strict sense of the word, but are, in fact, different and distinct social orders; and it is a dream that the Hindus and Muslims can ever evolve a common nationality; and this misconception of one Indian nation has gone far beyond the limits and is the cause of more of our troubles and will lead India to destruction if we fail to revise our notions in time. The Hindus and Muslims belong to two different religious philosophies, social customs, and literature[s]. They neither intermarry nor interdine together, and indeed they belong to two different civilisations which are based mainly on conflicting ideas and conceptions. Their aspects [=perspectives?] on life, and of life, are different. It is quite clear that Hindus and Mussalmans derive their inspiration from different sources of history. They have different epics, their heroes are different, and different episode[s]. Very often the hero of one is a foe of the other, and likewise their victories and defeats overlap.

Re: for all you flag waving desis
Considering that Jinnah was a secularist who drank, ate pork, and married a Parsi himself (all quite openly), I would hardly hold him up as an example of a great Muslim leader.
Great leader of India's Muslims, yes, but not a great Muslim himself.

where is the proof that he did all those things? he also qouted from the quran as well. you shouldnt believe rumors. not only that, he married a parsi, but as he told his own daughter... "but she became a Muslim". you are more than welcome to visit her grave in Bombay's Khoja Jamaat Khana qabarstan.
and there are plenty of hindu's would never label jinnah a secularist. they believe he was a communalist. and the last time a hindu leader, who ironically was a sindhi from karachi, called jinnah secular, he took alot of heat for it from among hindus.

Re: for all you flag waving desis
So, what exactly do you want all the "flag-waving desies" to do?
roll over and die?

Holding grudge is not always healthy...you know! just forgive all the desis/girls for not being able to live up to YOUR standards. All Hail, for King Gotfiveonit for his highness.
and Queen Latifa said hello with a message...
Tell me, don't you think it's a shame?
When someone can put a quarter in a video game
But when a homeless person approaches you on the street
You can't treat him the same
It's time to teach the def, the dumb, the blind
That black-on-black crime only shackles and binds
You to a doom, a fate worse than death
But there's still time left
Stop putting your conscience on cease
And bring about some type of peace
Not only in your heart, but also in your mind
It will benefit all mandkind
Then there will be one thing that will never stop
And it's the evil that men do

He may have done those bad things in his earlier life, however it is widely known that he distanced himself from those activities and became a better Muslim during his political life. Not to mention if the likes of Iqbal and Shabir Ahmed Nomani not just accepted but applauded his leadership, who are you to question?
Also isn't it unbecoming of a muslim to reveal sins of others? especially those that have passed away?
