Well yes, the Prophet (saws) used to answer questions like this too. Mufti Ebrahim is a very tactful person. If you have a question of this personal nature, who would you rather ask? Your parents, some non Muslim Agony Aunt? Or a trained scholar, not only trianed in Sacred Law but has the adab and humility to answer these questions?

I guess so. Most community leaders (imams) answer these sort of questions, i guess its unusual to see the answers in a public setting. If I were asking a question like that i'd prefer it to be confidential.

I converted last year so don't take my word for it, but hopefully not.

As someone on another Muslim forum said, "Allah (SWT) designed us with these parts, why would we have to cut them off?"

If its going to cause undue pain and discomfort then no. However there hadiths that say the Prophet(saws) commanded Muslims males upon conversion to get circumcised.


Its best to ask the knowledgeable so i'll refer you to a fatwa.

Circumcision of adult males is done under general anesthesia. So you won't feel a thing. There will be some minor pain and discomfort after the operation, but it will last only a few days and you can take pain killers.

I know a 65+ old man who got it done, because he wanted his body to go into death in the proper way.

Here is a relevant quote:

they leave them public so that other people with similar questions can have their question answered.. the identity of the person asking the question is left private, of course.

i find it odd that people who are against any form of censorship, and who celebrate their acceptance of all manner of deviancies, form a sudden sense of prudishness when it comes to a trained scholar answering real questions about sexuality in an islamic framework

actually, i guess it's not that odd.. given that bluestar is a moron
