Nobody goes to UTM because they want to. We go to UTM because we're too lazy to go anywhere else.

Minimum due Is 60% of your full fees.

Good luck, I hope things work out for you. The UTM registrar sucks, I hate them.
As for MGM101-102, speak to Appleyard, Im sure he'll arrange for something.

I love UTM. The atmosphere is amazing, and for the most part, people are really helpful and not-so competitive like the people at St. George. I like how it's actually possible to get to know your professor due to the small classes, and how could you not hate the fact that our longest possible walk for classes is from South to North building, or vice versa?

As for the MSA, I didn't get involved first year. Seems a little cliquey.. I've been harassed by some MSA sisters to attend events and whatnot. They're kind of pushy, and make you feel like you'll die if you don't go to an event... but despite that they seem like nice people Not sure how the MSA brothers are.

Timbit seems to have you covered registrar-wise! Not sure what kind of advice you're looking for exactly but if you want to talk to UTM, then just hollaaa.

I just read your mgm101 bit. There's still space in the early lecture, and the other lecture has a tiny waitlist. inshaAllah you'll get in. Oh and once you do, buy my mgm101 textbook.
What program are you in?

If I dont get into the mgm101 course this term, I'm seriously gonna transfer over to Guelph/laurier/york or any bigger school with sound repute.

MSA Brothers are awesome. Very helpful with course selection and coursework. But I'm too busy w/ work that I dont usually chill with people on campus that much except for a few old friends from High school. I took some years off of school and just returned last year.

As far as the UTM environment is concerned, it suffers from a terrible fob-infestation. You should notice how dirty and messy the south building is on a busy morning day. That is the only hangout place on campus...I dont know which pinds these ill-mannered freaks come to attend the university from...I have a tough time making friends/dealing with fobs...these are the kind of people that never stick to their word; they'd plan one thing, and later do something else...

I'm just running out of patience with UTM. No other university has such terrible management and fobby student population...

That's what I paid last year. But Timbit said its 10%???

What can Appleyard do? Last year he told me He couldn't do anything about the waitlist...i was 57th person out of 130th...still couldnt get in..

I had to see a financial advisor once at UTSC and she said that you get to enroll in your classes if you pay just 10% of your fees!

Also, I've had profs sign me into courses that're full. There's a form available at the Registrar's for late registration in classes. You just pick it up and get them to sign it. Doesn't seem like it's gonna be neecessary for your 101 course; Sugarcore just said there's space available in one lecture. Also, I hate to say this, but if you're the 57th person on a waitlist, you should've picked your courses earlier!

Did you just drop one course or change your entire major? 'Cause that's what the incidental fees might be about. Though 800 dollars is a lot of money. That can't all just be incidental fees.

No, Im sure its 60%, thats what I paid just a few days ago.
Also, I think it might be worth another try, tell him the registrar is messing things up, and that you'd tried last year too. Worth a shot.

Why're they asking you how you pay for your tuitition? why does that matter to the regg if you're not taking osap? I'm doing pretty much the same thing too, and I havent yet been asked about it.

Also, in terms of 'reupte', York & the other schools you listed fall far below UofT.

Sugarcore: Dude, we should get involved this year, together, with the MSA
And I totally agree with the MSA girls being pushy, but I think its great!

Financial advisor at UTSC wasn't making an exception for me, btw. She told me that your status goes from invited to registered if you only pay 10% of your fees. I was surprised too.

Think it might be different for UTM?
Hmm, rosi tells you the amount you need to pay before you're 'registered', the amount is 60% of your total.

Shah Rukh: You may want to check up on it one more time, then.

I'm in commerce.

You should get into mgm101. I just checked again (I love the new timetable page by the way =P) and both lectures have really small waitlists. This morning, there were 8 spots in lec0101. Anyhoo, if I were you, I'd register for the early lecture, but just attend the later one. You just need to make sure you write your tests in the early lecture. If you don't get into mgm101, then I see your point, and it does make sense to switch out of UTM, since they don't offer mgm101/102 in the summer... even though they really should. mgm101 is ridiculously high in demand this year because of the new BBA degree, but I remember at one point the waitlist had 50-something people on it (friend of a friend of mine was trying to get into mgm101 as well) and it's gotten really small now so inshaAllah you'll get in. I just want to warn you though, the GPA cut-off for non-guaranteed students for management this year was 2.9. I anticipate that it will probably stay the same, or if anything, go higher because of the BBA. Oh and sorry for this essay. Hope it was helpful though.

lol at fob-infestation. They've never bothered me and I don't bother them, so it's never been a problem for me. Other places you could hang out are Spiegel, and the fourth floor library lol. And if you're up for the walk, the north building caf is basically the same thing as the meeting place minus the fobs.

As for the minimum payment, to my knowledge it is 60% at UTM. 10% would be AWESOME though lol.

Spice: We should, eh? I will try to attend some events this year, iA. I suck at juggling school with other things lol. Will they be having iftaar's this year? We should go to one.

Also, I just remembered how long my commute is. It takes me an hour and 15-20 minutes to get to school on the TTC (surface routes or subway/RT) Yes, I practically live on the bus. If I went to St. George, I'd get there in like 30 minutes. Serves me right for not transferring.

Hardly.

When I was going to Centennial, it used to 2.5 hours, one way.

It is pretty crazy. But I love UTSC and didn't want to transfer to St. George when we moved.

This summer was especially crazy 'cause I was commuting all the way to Scarborough for work everyday. And then all the way back to St. George for class afterwards.

Whatever... that's life. The TTC's not so bad.
I had a Metropass.

And I drive sometimes/get a ride, so yeah...
