Masjid al-Falah has a lot of youth activity, and recently Masjid Umar al-Faruq as well.
There's lots of different resources for you to check out if you want to know whats happening on the Muslim masjid scene in the GTA One of the best sites is Toronto Muslims.

If you look at the stats, the crime rate in Scarborough is definitely not the highest in the city. Certain areas of North York and downtown Toronto are worse.
Do you get out of 'Sauga much, Shahrukh?

I have two jobs and one side-business running at the same time. I do deliveries for my full-time day job and go to cities ranging from Whitby to all the way down in windsor. I'm out every single day, 6 days a week, and go to Scarborough at least once a week and up to 3 times. Also my best buddy n some friends i grew up with live in scar as well...hope that answers your question?
Alll the hustlers selling illegal/fake stuff, dodgy businessmen, ghetto Tamil, black, n desi criminal gangs, they're all there...
Did I mention the Chinese?
Recently a friend of mine bought a car from a dealer in scar and now stuck with 1 thousand down payment cuz the dealer turned out to be a scammer...
on another note, Pak and muslim communities in general are much more poorer n worse in scarborough compared to the rest of GTA...
North York and Downtown are supposed to be more violent...cuz they're more populace and money capital of canada
Whereas Scar doesn't even have offices of most multi-million corporation...as most of 'em are based in Markham and the rest of GTA
Hence the name...Scar-borough

Of course the Pakistani and Muslim communities in Scarborough are poorer than the ones in Mississauga or Thornhill. Parts of Scarborough are low-income. They're definitely not poorer than the Muslim communities in Regent Park or Crescent Town or Thorncliffe/Flemingdon though.
My point was that Scarborough is a big place and because there's crime in some areas of it, people tend to paint the whole thing with the same brush (the media's at fault here too). That's why the whole effort to get them to say intersections instead of just "Scarborough."
And parts of downtown and North York do have higher crime rates. Markham's crime rate is going up too. Trust me, I lived there for six years and there are all kinds of gangs. The high school I went to in Markham was no different from many of the ones in Scarborough. Lots of grow-ops in Markham too.
Hustlers and drug-dealers... again, there are more in certain parts of downtown Toronto.
Used car salesmen everywhere are weasels.
Out of curiosity, have you ever lived outside of Mississauga?

Re: The Toronto Crew
Just came back from a looooong road trip. Went to Michigan for a week, then decided to drive up to Toronto. I spent the night in a tent in Elora (hour from T.O.); beautiful place. Yesterday, I wound up walking up and down the habor in downtown T.O. on Queen's Quay; and took the ferry to Toronto Island. Very cool place.
For dinner, on a friend's recommendation, I hit up "Lahore Tikka House" or something; on Gerard Street. The entire seating area is outside under tents; with a very Desi Wedding feel. The food was unbelievably good. And the whole Little India/Pakistan feel was very cute.
On my way towards Niagra on the QEW we passed ISNA Canada HQ. We tried stopping by (around 10pm) but the entire place was deserted. Wassup with that? I'd think a place that huge would at least have daily prayers available.
Last night we camped out in Hamilton... again, beautiful campsite. I was a little disappointed when we finally made it to Niagra... way too many tourists (but a hellll of a lot of hijabis).
I wish I could have met up with y'all... but I had no way of contacting anyone. I had asked Haramoobobi to post up my plans, but I guess that didn't pan out.
All in all, I approve of Canada.

Re: The Toronto Crew
Crappiest Canada Day ever.
Last year, I was on the beach near Lake Erie and saw the coolest Canada Day parade in small-town Canada, heh. This year, I missed all the bbqs and stayed at home working on an essay and suffering from an allergic reaction. And on top of that, I missed meeting MuslimZ!
Still got to see some fireworks though (didn't get to set any off though). Alhamdulillah.
Hope you all had a good long, long weekend (if you got a long weekend at all, that is).
