ShahRukh, do you ever read/watch the news? There is no tornado; there was a tornado warning though in parts of southern Ontario.

I just realized that I can't make it to Muslimfest because my cousin's getting married lol. And no the Al-Maghrib class too, my friend wasn't able to get me a discount on it so we decided not to go.. though I might go to Journey of Faith. Not sure yet. I've never heard of the event before, is it the first time they're holding it?

Is it just me or has there been lots of bad news in Toronto lately?

All the deaths (accidents and shootings) and missing people and dogs being poisoned. Though there was this one article about how we only care when it's the White kids getting shot. Lyke omg, Toronto is racialized. Reminds me of the summer of the gun and that front-page spread in the Star about how the majority of the victims were Black.

That one murder of the senior citizen was particularly horrifying. His son was charged.
Aqsa Parvez's father and brother have been charged with her murder too, apparently.

And the drug busts.

And our very own Muslim celebrity, Maniac, fractured his arm.

The gas prices are at a record high.

Also, Darcy Tucker is no longer a Leaf (though I really dunno if that's good or bad; maybe one of the hockey fans here can elaborate).

In good news though: New principal of C.W. Jeffreys seems like he'll be able to connect with the students. And then there was that kid born on the DVP, heh.

New Centennial college ads are up around the city; they kinda suck.

There was Luminato and the Jazz festival and now there's Pride, so there'll be street closures and a big party/parade.

Weather is great though.
But I hate when there's no air-conditioning on a bus!

Yeah, um... all I do in the morning is read the news (and look around; hence, noticing the ads). Long commute and all.

My big bro was picking me up from the subway station recently one night though and he told me to "wait inside" and "be careful" if I'm gonna stand outside. I was like "Why, 'cause it's cold or 'cause you think I might get kidnapped?" He was all "No, 'cause there was a random stabbing there the other day!" I totally missed that story; guess I don't read the paper carefully enough.

Sugarcore: Yep. First annual conference. It looks good though; they're publicizing it a lot. My Facebook inbox is flooded with messages from the organizers every single day, just sending out reminders.

p.s. Scarborough is the most ghetto and gayest town in all of GTA..

Too many accidents and deaths of friends, robbings, stabbings, etc. you just name the crime and its there everyday!!

Recently two friends of my buddie died in car accidents. 1 got stabbed and another robbed...

Thank God I live in Mississauga...too much to thank for...ahhhh!

Americans got next friday off for the independence thingy. Kinda ironic considering American's dependence on alot of things

Scarborough just gets a bad rap, honestly. Scarlem and Scaryborough or whatever.
I never used to go there before I started at UTSC, but now I practically live there and it's alright.

If you look at the stats, the crime rate in Scarborough is definitely not the highest in the city. Certain areas of North York and downtown Toronto are worse.

Do you get out of 'Sauga much, Shahrukh?
