You can complain, and they will note the complaint in the employee's file as well as pull him into a room. It'll be even more severe if you complain and have valid grounds to cancel the sale because of deceptive statements made by the rep.

And if it was something really serious then they'll fire him

Then, the only problem on my part is/was that I had NO PROOF(no voice recorder or written note from him) to present as evidence I purchased the contract from local Rogers store in the city and as far I know, some are franchised because I was asked about the location/city of the store etc. To top off everthing, the Customer Service Rep on the phone was not much of a help when I filed my complaint.anyhoo, its an old story...and I dont feel like re-visiting the scene..

stupid rogers. stupid boys. stupid food which makes me hungry.

I used to work for Rogers Wireless way back when, maybe I can shed some light on how the billing cycles function.

When you pay fro wireless service, you're always paying for the upcoming month, plus any minutes you went over for the preceding month.

When you intially sign up, the day you're activated you usually pay for the hardware and any activation costs, then the rep tells you that in a month or so, you'll receive a bill that will consist of your monthly charge plus pro-rated billing for the balance of the days between your activation and your close date.

They add the 24th-30th of December to the entire month of January. From that point on, you're billed for the upcoming month, plus you're overage from the previous month.

Everyone bills like this, they always have and probably always will. My bet is that fido's reps just aren't great at explaining that little bit. It's a little tricky to figure out at first.

Yeah, uh... I've been with Fido for close to two years now, and they have not always done this.

They did tell me that everybody gets billed for the upcoming month 'cause it works the same way everywhere else. But you guys on here are saying no.

No they dont. They have different call centres.
They do, however, both charge in advance, as infamous brown already said. You only begin to notice the paying-in-advance clause once you look forward to making major changes to your contract (cancelling, changing plans, etc).

They can also pull up the other's account - eg a Rogers rep can pull up a Fido account and make changes, and vice versa. Although the policies and plans ARE different between the providers.

Timbit, I encourage you to dig up your old bills. They should specify that they're charging for the upcoming month.

Best places to shop in Toronto for shaadi? I know to go to gerrard, but please give me exact stores. i dont want vague locations.

Specifically:

-Dress, not exactly wedding dress but fancy shalwar kameez/lehnga etc.
-Jewlery: gold, matching sets, chooriyaan etc.
-what else do brides buy?

-also if you can ask your mom whats a rip off price for all of the above is. and a decent price too.

jazak Allah.

for sure..including the plane ticket.

ive never purchased any shaadi clothes from gerrard.. but heard everything is pretty much double (or more) the price that it would cost if you were to get it from pakistan.

but since one cant just hop on a plane and go to pakistan to get clothes. (hahaha maybe one can) ...... getting them from gerrard is the only option. sorry im not familiar with ne specific stores. but if u go there. im sure they cant be that hard to find. :S

check out there website: Gerrard India Bazaar

(haha who knew they had a website?... i love google)

just find someone amongst your desi acquaintances who has relatives / friends either coming from, or going to, Pakistan anytime soon and give them all the specs on what you're looking for and have them bring the clothes over. If you want, you can pay them a bit for the trouble, but usually most desies are pretty good with things like that, you ask them to bring this or that and they'll do it, and then you just pay them for the cost of the clothes / jewelry when they come back.

If you want you could still grab a plane ticket and fly over there, and like hockeychicka said ... its still cheaper.

i dont think so. it cost around $1700 to get a plane ticket. i think my shopping will cost less than that in Toronto. especially since im not looking for a bridal dress to begin with.

I was presuming that one was going to go purchase a wedding dress. If that's not the case, then forget the plane ticket, just ask someone going there to get you the stuff anyways.

Otherwise, just walk into a desi grocery store, pick up the local papers and look through them for all the stores on Gerrard and elsewhere around the GTA

u can give them all the specs in the world.....but there is a chance u wont like what they bring u... and u end up buying an outfit from here.. therefore.. it is better if you do the shopping urself...especially if the clothes u are looking for are for your own wedding...

Well, when my relatives do long-distance shopping, they usually get photos from the other person before authorizing a purchase. Everyone has cell-phone or digital cameras these days, it seems.

There's more than just the Pakeeza paper ... there's like half a dozen other major ones and there are more ads in print than online - most of their readership base prefers the paper.

You could just go to websites like desiconnections.ca and search. I went and found some place called Maharani Fashions - I'm sure there's more.
