Go thru the listed places in this thread for halal restaurants and other random places, but for touristy places I suggest the London Eye, Tower of London, Speakers Corner, Trafalgar Square/Picadilly Circus etc..

Find out from other places and then ask for a reviews in this thread, I'll tell you if it's worth goin to or not

When are u booking your ticket?

I'm not into Kensington High Street eventho my cousin would drag me there all the time, altho I did buy one of my fave everrrr skirts from the House of Fraser there 2 years back (and I've only ever worn it 3 times coz it's too posh )

I've been to City Uni to see a friend once but we never went to that place ur talkin about, it sounds nice for a spot of lunch in the park on a nice day tho.. what exactly was it called??

Green Street - hmm.. the jury's out for that one.. I think coz I only ever go a coupla times a year I enjoy it, but after my experiences in almost all of the restaurants I don't think I will ever eat from Green Street again (apart from the Ambala/McDonalds type of places)

Something that bothers me about UK: tense racial situation 24/7 everywhere

Also, I don't want to accuse all English people of acting rude or snotty toward Americans because some are very pleasant, but after years of business god awful business trips, I've come to the conclusion that grade school English children are taught to equate 'stupid' with 'American.' Yes, we are arguably louder and more demanding, but that doesn't mean we're all ignorant. Interestingly enough, British radios blare American pop music, televisions broadcast American t.v. shows and the movies play American flicks. If we're so dumb, why do they cherish our popular culture? And one last thing: any country that manufactures the Spice Girls shouldn't throw stones at glass houses ...

Heya, salaam

I'm sorry you've had bad experiences of Brits and Is pologise on the behalf of those who have been disrespectful. However, to be honest, I think most fo the American tourists that I have come across are either REALLY intelligent/cultured or COMPLETELY ignorant/stupid.. It's each extremes, which is weird!

However, I do prefer Americans on the basis that they are more easy to understand i.e u know where u stand with most of them: if they hate u, they'll be a b*tch about it instead of being politically correct which usually becomes synonymous with two-faced

As for the TV thing, most of the stuff on British TV is English, but the main American shows are on in the evening (Friends, Ugly Betty, CSI, Buffy etc) along with all the British soaps/documentaries/news etc. On sattelite tho, there are of course the American channels such as E! News

Where's a good place to get halal bacon from?

I had it in a burger at Tinsel Town the other day, and it tasted alright. Might try it at home.

I was there yesterday! The food's yummy [Cajun chicken ]but the amount of birthdays they have in there in the space of 2hrs .

I think you might have more luck finding halal bacon [beef] in Arab butchers.

Yes.

Though in my area, we're going bendy and whoever came up with the idea of a bendy bus needs a smack.

Way too many stinky people with dogs get a better chance of boarding the bus since nobody's really around to check if you've paid.
