Kids are so cute and say the most adorable things. This incident happened in my sister's classroom after one of them cussed (they're 9 years old). They're both Muslim and named Ali.

Ali 1: He's lying Ms., I didn't say it; he did!
Ali 2: Liar! He said it!
Ali 1: You said it!
Ali 2: You know how I know you're lying?!!?!!
Ali 1: How?
Ali 2: Because you're going to BURN when Allah gives you the Quran in your left hand you LIAR!!

I was laughing so hard when he screamed that. He looked ready to kill Ali 1.
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmm why is that cute?

'Cause the kid knows you shouldn't lie because it's a sin.

My big brother to me today: Soooo... I'm in the market for a new phone
Me: I'm aware... 'cause you mentioned that already today. Are you dropping some kind of hint?
Him: Wellll... my birthday's coming up
Me: Yeah, I know. So's mine
Him: So what do you want for your birthday?
Me: You want me to show you him?
Him: Him, eh? Okay, you can show me... and you'll get him. In a bag.

Because the poor kid got so flustered that the only thing he could think of was to remind him of hell.

I thought it was cute how he just blurted that out, but the cuteness kinda get's killed when it's explained.

Today, after I couldn't find a single bag that I liked despite having covered the entire mall, I collapsed on a bench and started whining. And my friend was like "It's okaaaaay... your birthday's coming up and I'll buy you a nice bag. And your brother will buy you a husband so you'll have two presents!"

So like... my big brother turned 23 today and my mom was like "Wow, 23 . You better hurry up and graduate 'cause we wanna get you married." And he was all like "Oh Please God no. I'm gonna stay in school forever just to avoid that."

And I was like "Isn't it funny, Mom, how your oldest kid is 23 but your youngest can't even count to 23?"

Okay, my Music prof, right? I was talking to her after class and she told me how she has connections to India. Her husband plays the tabla and has some Indian musician friends, and her grandfather used to live in India, he was a... and then she stopped in the middle of her sentence.

I was telling my friend about it later and he was like "Yeah, her grandfather was a friggin' colonial officer." He hates her; thinks she's Orientalist.

Still, pretty funny. Like... yeah, we know what your grandfather was doing in India. Nothing to be proud of.

Nilla: Was she being serious?

My friend asking about my new boss: So is he sketchy?
Me: I dunno, I can't say... but I half-expect him to tell me I have to sleep with him to get a promotion or something.
Her: Okay, that's how you know he's sketchy!

People on the bus were amused by our conversation.

And no worries, people. I haven't accepted the job yet... partly because this man is so sketchy.
