That's why I'm saying they could've just made the milad a different event altogether. So then everybody can do their haraam bit at the wedding and their religious bit at the milad (they'd know to come dressed appropriately). I'm so smart, right?

khawo/khaavo is rice. khade jo, khorak, khen jo is food (khade/khen are different forms of 'eat' (kha)).

The overly-dressed memon girls at this funeral I'm talking about were probably scared they were going to miss a rishta opportunity. It's the only reason I can think of them coming with make-up and blonde streaked, ceramic-straightened hair! I looked down at my plain abaya and thought, crap, it's like someone's died...
