Hmmm, I'm mostly looking for the works of Iranian intellectuals and 'Ulema critical of Western philosophy (especially dialectical materialism) and theories of economics and governance. To be specific, the works of Ayatullah Mutahhari and Abdul Karim Souroush would be good to start with. (I've already got most of Khomeini's works).

Maybe I'm just ignorant because I've never looked into it, but isn't that something you can find online?

Some of Mutahhari's stuff is online, but there are lots of works by him that aren't.

im half iranian i have an iranian passport and i was there recently, firslty, clearly most people on this thread dont know anything about iran, you would be perfictly safe, and you get iranians who look black in the south, most of my family are darker than you, as for covering your face not 1 and i mean i did not see 1 iranian who did that, but i even saw dudes with turbans on as in singh turbans, no one does anything, very polite tollerant society, despite popular beleif, if u need to know anything ask me ill tell you, hope it helped.

So like, YAYYYYY!!!!!!!, I might be going to Iran around this time next year! Yes, that's next year. As in 09.

I'm already starting to mentally pack.

I'd be bringing the bare minimum, since I want my suitcase as empty as possible so I can shop shop shop.

I picked up a couple Iranian memoirs at my job today. I want to read them to get a better understanding of some of the women of Iran.

I also plan on writing to the Iranian embassy in Washington. I want some free stuff and I'm going to ask if I can meet Ahmadinejad.
