One of the things I love most about Pakistan is being able to hear the azan five times a day

If you live in a neighborhood like mine, you'll hear 10 Azaans in a day

The ahlul-hadith masajid say Azaan quite early.

Guys, did anyone happen to read my post about visiting Pakistan and living there for a little while?

I am wanting to go and stay for a few months, get a job and stuff. But my family there is trying to discourage me saying that in the neighborhood things are relatively safe but for me to get a job would mean traveling to and from a location outside the neighborhood and they say that's risky. My family lives in Karachi. How true is this? (my grandparents tend to be sort of paranoid anyway)
I haven't been there in 20 years and I have no intention of visiting any time soon. Yeah, parts of Karachi are pretty messed up still. yay for corruption.

There is a lot of corruption, but thats mostly in bigger/higher deals that are above the level of an ordinary man. Therefore, while commoners do get affected, but that affect isn't directly proportional to the overall corruption factor in pakistan.

I think I failed to make sense!

Speaking of karachi, this one has a perfect timing

Karachi has super mad traffic and is way too polluted than Lahore and ISB. Job wise you can get one I think, but moving freely has always been difficult for me whenever I visit Khi.
lol and I thought the traffic in Islamabad was bad. I wrecked my chachu's car there. He never let me drive again

So, like I have a lot of respect for this lady and for what she has achieved. Given the type of environment in Pakistan and general perceptions about religion (especially women who start practicing Islam), what she has been able to do is quite phenomenal.

I know she has a lot of haters: There are the 'Ulama and I've looked into their arguments and its pity what they are calling out her over, all of those issue they have a 'problem' with her are issues of fiqh with legitimate ikhtilaaf, which shows the level of their thinking (there are other 'Ulama who have praised her). Then there are some well-respected and well known "Muftis" (with a western background), and I don't wanna name any names, who have been straight up spreading lies and maligning her. Then there are those who are simply jealous, and come up with most ridiculous stuff...the pettiest of which is the type of comments they pass about wearing the niqab (wallahi some are so revolting that shar'an these people could get whipped).

I personally have some serious reservations about some of the stuff she and her husband (Dr. Idrees Zubair) have been promoting (which most her silly haters can't even grasp), but the good work she does deserves a special mention. You can guess her name...
