Carnivorous plant thread
So yeah, this is the carnivorous plant thread. Anyone collect them?
Here's what I have:
And I just ordered one of these today:
Anyone else? They're suprisingly easy to grow. They're almost like pets.

They have a great variety at competible prices. I've been ordering from them for 6 years.

you know what?! yes they will be cuz they are the dominant allele in people. so hah!
using the hardy weinberg equilibrium, if we estimate that the recessive allele, the non-nerdy people, is .4 then the dominant allele is .6. to figure out the heterozygous genotype, you would mutliply 2(.4)(.6) which would give you .48. which means, 48% people show the nerd trait. now you know that .6 is the recessive allele, so you square that to figure out the recessive genotype, which gives you, .36 or 36% peopel showing the non-nerdy genotype. to figure out the homozygous dominant, you would subtract 84 (36 +48) from a 100; which gives you 16. therefore 16% of the people are homozygous dominant.
that means 64% (16 + 48) show the nerd genotype. and only 36% dont. so...BOOYAH!

Anyone who lives in England really shouldn't keep this plants It's really bad for them, because we can't provide the same weather for them that they have there. It would be cruel because most of them die anyway, if not then it's just weird because they would be evolving to live in this climate and thats freaky, we don't know what the consequences of that would be.

You could grow them indoors like I do. keep them near a window or a terrarium or something.

hmm, that means natural sunlight would still be less than they're usually have and probably need. How do you feed them?
Guess i'm not too big on the idea of going to that much effort, i just live by the motto that if it doesn't happen naturally then it shouldn't happen at all but each to his own
