There will be no Judgment—until very tall buildings are constructed.
(Reported by Abu Hurairah) The Hour will not be established—till the people compete with one another in constructing high buildings. (Bukhari) ...if one claims to be in support of Hadiths holding legal significance, how then can they be in support of the development of tall buildings and competing with it, given the Hadiths above? ![]() shadha- |

it doesnt say that tall buildings are bad, just that they are going to be built. And thats whats happening. Tall buildings are pretty cool, you should visit a major city like New York City or Chicago to check out cool skyscrapers sometime

![]() I don't think success is about tall buildings. Anyone who's visited Abu Dhabi would realise that despite the riches, it still looks like a fourth world city (with the exception of a few areas housing the embassies, I think). Abu Dhabi is definitely richer than Dubai, because they have the oil. Also, Burj al-Arab (7 star hotel), which is in Dubai, is now owned by Abu Dhabi. I'd like to see the country develop on other levels, and money helps. |

I think Abu Dhabi should build a man-made island in the shape of shaq and build the first 11 star hotel plus a space shuttle launch platform

Ye, feeding the poor and hungry helps too, a lot more than building billion dollar hotels.
Also, help funding islamic schools around the world to help give a boost to the next generation of muslims.... helps too. From a country where islam was brought, and people who show themselves as muslims and wear islamic garments, everyone would've expected "proper" muslim leaders to do better, we are, of course, living here momentarily. Billion dollar hotels compare to nothing with what allah has to offer.

First of all, the UAE spends a lot of money on charity abroad, that it neglects doing the same inside. Many UAE nationals are poor, and live in one-room mud houses in some areas. Charity begins at home. Secondly, the UAE is building schools abroad. Not Islamic schools, but regular schools, and sponsoring students in underdeveloped countries. Dubai Cares is a huge charity organisation that does so much work abroad. It would be nice if they started looking inwards. I don't think building Islamic schools in other Muslim countries is a good idea. When people build Islamic schools, they preach their own interpretation of Islam. Personally, I'm happy with our interpretation with Islam. But I do not want to see people from other countries cursing us one day because of our "deviant" beliefs that we fund and preach in our sponsored schools abroad. Saudi Arabia is a good example. In their own eyes, they're doing a good job. In the eyes of many, they are preaching fantacism. We are not a khilafa. When we become the seat or capital of khilafa, then you can expect these things from the UAE or any other Muslim country. |
