innovation in the sense that people have attributed to the religion of Islam when such a practice is not from the adab of the sunnah of the Prophet (sallahu alayhi wa sallam).

I hope the husband wins the case. Clearly the girl has been a victim twice over which resulted in her tragic death. Family members are supposed to protect and support each other with love and understanding. I don't see how killing someone who offends (whether real or imagined) fits into this view. It is a sick and dysfunctional mentality that views women as possessions to be done away with to preserve so called 'honor'. They give new meaning to the term 'dysfunctional family'.
