I attended it last year and it was awesome. I don't think you can really compare it with ISNA - ISNA is more of a mass socializing-type event with a high profile bazaar while TDC is more geared towards serious knowledge seekers. I know many people who have been to ISNA just to hang out with their friends or check out the bazaar, and they may have come out of the event with one Hamza Yusuf speech. In terms of attendance, ISNA gets like 10x more people - 30,000 compared to like 3000 people for TDC.

Don't think I'll be able to attend this year but that speakers list looks pretty impressive. When did Siraj Wahhaj start speaking at TDC?

But you're right, Isna was...ya. Last year there were some 10-15 i believe, correct me if i'm wrong, or even more, pregnancies..it's a shame. But ya TDC, should be fun! Not to mention Eid will be on Friday and they are having a Open Barbeque!!!

so.. TDC is kind of like the Almaghrib classes (in terms of knowledge seeking and attending lectures) only a lot bigger and less time for socializing and mingling, no?
i'm really looking forward to it inshaAllah

Hmmm more or less. Not as intensive as AlMaghrib though - a conference is not the same as a weekend long class IMO. But you'll definitely enjoy the experience.

Well we tried the same experiment last year (driving with 15 ppl) and it turned out ok. Tiredness aside, driving with 14 other people can be a lot of fun. Drove all the way from chi-town and we got there in roughly 20 hrs. dude we were soo tired we needed a whole day just to get out of that funk and recharge our batteries.

Ya right..maybe if it was back in india-pak they would somehow find a way to stuff us all in one of those auto-rickshaws. but thankfully we found a 15 seater van..problem was we didnt make any stops on the way and some of us wanted to sleep real bad. so a few brave souls on that van decided to go against logic and reason and sleep on the floor under the seat and make room for others..so it kinda worked out i guess. i barely got any sleep though..but whatever..it was all for a good cause anyway.

yea for real, well i will try and make it, but this year it even looks like its gonna be harder than the previous years...but you never know inshallah. My actual bro lives in Yemen, but yea some of my bro's in Islam will go im sure.

yea i know what you mean by an overhall car its very expensive to start at the beginning. thats why when i bought my teg most of the under the hood stuff was done...supercharger and all... All I had to get done was the suspension.
