If you're referring to the MAS-ICNA conference, I would highly suggest you go to RIS instead. I heard last year's conference wasn't that good, but supposedly they've worked out most of the problems (according to the local MAS).

Different strokes for different folks. I personally have only been to RIS but from people I know that go Islamic conference hopping, they find RIS is the most well-rounded.

This time last year, I had completely booked my trip to RIS with hotels and everything. So far, RIS just put up registration and venue. Its pretty sad. I might not be able to go because of the high last-second airline prices.

Yeah, these conferences can get expensive. But it's worth it, I feel. RIS is only once a year. And the lectures are awesome.

Why does it cost 3 times as much to fly back to the US than it does to fly to Canada?

Anyways, I'm going to talk to my friend and iA we'll book tickets tonight. I'm flying from here to Canada the Sunday before the retreat. Then I'm either going to take Amtrak or Greyhound to NY to visit my sister after the retreat. Then I'll fly down from there after New Years.

Is it better to take Amtrak or Greyhound? They're the same price and take roughly the same time. The only difference is that Greyhound travels through the night while Amtrack would travel during the day (the scenery should be beautiful). But I'll have to pay for an extra night of hotel if I take Amtrak. What say you guys?

if u dont wanna waste your day, then greyhound. sleep the whole way, screw scenery youve seen it once youve seen it all lol
