actually no, my car and many others need premium, specifically for me, when i use lower grade gas my car detonates. So I need 91 octane and when I use a octane raiser like denatured alcohol it helps it to run even smoother with absolutely no detonating.

Re: Gas: How Much Are You Paying?
I filled up gas last week and it was $2.98. I'm sure it's 3 bucks or more now. I'll see when I go fill up tomorrow.
Pain in the ass.

Uh, NO.
A lot of high end cars explicitly state in their manuals and final paperwork that if you do not use 93 octane gas, then the manufacturer's AND dealer's warranty is null and void, simply because in order to meet their SLA's they need to make sure you've been feeding it premium, clean gas.

Re: Gas: How Much Are You Paying?
like i wrote before the son's of the rich seem to have plenty of money to burn at the gas pump.
shadha drives a 97' honda prelude and is using premimum gas for it. i drive a 97's honda civic with over 140k miles on it believe it or not, i use the cheapest gas i can find, like everyone else. its so bad i have to wait in line in my car just to get to a gas pump because everyone else is doing the same thing, going to the cheapest gas station in the area, even if its just two cents less than someone down the street. and my car runs perfectly fine and good. you know why? because honda's never die, which is why shadha shouldnt worry about her prelude she will be driving it for a very long time to come.

If she has the 2.2l vtec engine instead of the base 2.0l engine, it would be foolish to put anything in it but premium. It's a 4 cylinder engine cranking out 195 hp.. depending on how hard its driven, low octane fuel would probably cause it to develop a knock.

That's just cheap. I see people doing this too, but like... it's not that much of a savings. And time is money.

In my manual as well as right above the gas tank specifies the gas that is required for my vtec engined car. And I wasn't aware that 97 civics required premium gas?
Either way, I'm not willing to risk my car, that I busted my ass to purchase, to save a couple dollars in gas. It's not worth it to me.
