that explains it. My sis was reading some article, and the authors did some math and found that every dollar the oil companies make west of the rockies is pure profit, and that they jack the price up unnecessarily high in western states. |

$1.07 here. But we go by litres.
So that's $4.05/gallon if my math is correct. 
Haven't heard my dad complain or my driving instructor.  You get used to it, I guess.
My brother complains, but that's only 'cause he doesn't make that much money working part-time. He takes the bus more often now, haha.
