Re: Bridal Wear
So question ladies.... say it was up to you, like you were responsible for buying your own wedding dresses (s) ( cause i know some of you have more than one) how much would you spend? what would be your upper limit?

Re: Bridal Wear
I refuse topay more than $1000 for my dress, and this includes alterations.
My mother has informed me that I can wear a white gown if I want to. Before she said it would look dumb with hijab, Naturally she had to see it on someone else.

Yeah, the Mehndi, shaadi, and Walima.
I know that a cousin of mine got her shaadi dress designed by Bareeza in pakistan, and it was that much for the single dress. But that dress was damn-kazam WOW

It really depends who I marry......and where my wedding will be. If I get married her I'm not paying over a grand. If it's back home, than we'll see.

Damn, it seems all of you have got everything planned out...right down to the budget for your freakin' dresses. You all put me to shame. I don't even have a guy.

Well sometimes you dont fall in love with anything in Pakistan, because other brides are wearing the same thing and carrying it off in a really tacky manner, and I think that would totally turn me off from wearing a similar style, which is why I'd get is designed. I know of some shops in liberty, Lahore, where you can work with the designers and create exactly what you want in terms of the cut, style, colour, and everything else.
But other times you will come across outfits that will knock your socks off, like your Mehndi outfit, which I'm sure your mother loved before she bought it.
So yeah, it all depends on what you're looking for.
Also, some places in India are fashionvilles, and on top of that you said your fiance's sister has good taste, so chances are she will get something stunning!
And now that we're talking about Indian fashion, although they have beautiful styles I have a big problem with the quality of the handiwork. A lot of times you'll find very pretty clothes and the perfect colours and everything you're looking for but when you step up for a closer look you'll find the beads and stuff are lightly sewn on, threatening to fall off any moment. That's crap. I'd rather pay 3xs more for better quality, which you will get if you get something designed.
P.S wearing poor quality for the style of the something is TACKY.
