Re: Girltalk: Style and Fashion
I have a fashion question. I have this shalwar lenght shirt from express thats solid black and plain. I want to wear dark blue jeans with it ..but I also want to wear my dark blue jean jacket with it..the jacket is regular lenght..and is of course shorter than the black shirt..so would it be wierd if I wore the jacket as well?

I don't like the jeans with jeans jacket look because you can easily end up looking tacky. I usually break the two pieces up and wear them separately. If you really want to wear them together though, the colors of the jeans jacket and the jeans should be similar, but not too matchy matchy. That way they still go without looking like you tried too hard to match.

Okay, so your question is if it looks weird to wear a shorter jacket over a longer shirt. The answer is: no.
Now for some unsolicited advice: you might want to add some colour in there. Too much black/dark blue.

Re: Girltalk: Style and Fashion
I like this shirt but if only it didn't have the band going across the chest.
Again, this is a design I'm saving for when I go to pakistan

Yea the shirt is about that long..maybe a little longer- like up to the knees.

The jacket and jeans actually match well..ive barely worn my jacket because I dont now what else to wear it with! Would it look wierd to wear a jean jacket with a skirt thats cotton fabric..NOT denim?

Oh well the shirt is long sleeve so itll do without the jacket.

No, that'll actually look nice. You could throw a jeans jacket over anything like a cotton skirt, twill pants, or even a dress.

Yep yep. Denim on anything else looks better than denim on denim actually.

Yeah, you really should! What's the point of buying something that you don't love?
Updating my wardrobe is part of my to-do list too. 'Cause I'm gonna be working full-time come September, so I need work clothes.

I think it may look better with a different fabric skirt rather than a denim skirt.
I've got a long jean jacket (from shukr ) and I try to avoid wearing it with a denim skirt because it feels too much like some kind of a cheap weird suit.
But maybe it's just the color/style of my jacket and skirt. If it were a shorter jacket perhaps it wouldn't look as bad.

Re: Girltalk: Style and Fashion
I've become more conscious of fabric type when buying clothing. A few months ago I was looking through some skirts at a desi store. More specifically, I was checking out the tag on the back. As I continued my search the elderly female clerk recited the price for each item that I touched.
This top would look adorable with the right colored A-line skirt.

Re: Girltalk: Style and Fashion
I bought some suits: black and white pinstripe and a gray and white pinstripe. They sound similar, but the black and white is more "cutesy" than the traditional gray and white. I found a few long skirts on sale too .
