Though, now since I'm married, my mom has told him to mind his own business for I have a husband now. It took him awhile to swallow that one. Lol. But now he just has this stupid tune he does when he wants to indirectly tell me that he doesn't approve of my pants, it goes like this...
Dad: SHADHA!
Me: Dad.

Re: The Official Make-Up Thread
So girls, I'm always so confused about the differences between liquid and pencil eyeliners... what are the different uses? I usually use liquid but I see some awesome stuff for pencils.

Liquid eyeliner gives a more dramatic look for its bolder than pencil.

Re: The Official Make-Up Thread
I think a good compromise is gel eyeliner. It gives a smooth, dramatic application like liquid eyeliner, but is much easier to use because you can apply it with your hand like pencil
I also think pencil eyeliner has its place.. it's great if you line your eyes with it and then smudge it for a smokey look.

Re: The Official Make-Up Thread
I didn't officially start wearing make up till i was a junior in HS and even then very little. my best friend is eyeliner and lip gloss.
I don't wear make every day..just when i feel like it. I roll outta bed and go to work with one exception: moisturizer.
I'm not sure when i'll let my daughter wear make-up.

I don't think makeup and clothes are insignificant, especially when a girl turns into a teenager. Parents freak out cause their daughter now has boobs and a butt, assets that men like to stare at in a disgusting manner. Then there's makeup which enhances a girl/woman's beauty. So, it's understandable why they'd want their daughters to dress more modestly than before.
----
As for makeup, I hardly wear any. On rare occasions, when I'm going out with the family, I like to wear a little eyeliner on the lower lash line, barely visible eye shadow, and a tinted lip gloss. I don't like very dark colors for the lips, I prefer a nice shade of pink.
I would love to wear mascara, but it's a pain to take off.

Re: All stolen from facebook.
I wore makeup to weddings when I was as young as 10 but it was very light.... when I started getting make up on my own and all that stuff was probably 14/15. I didn't wear any makeup outside the house until college and I wore a little bit of eyeliner, blush, even eyeshadow but then I realized it was too much for a hijabi so now I just wear eyeliner and foundation when I need outside the house.

I respect your opinion and i understand where your coming from, im just saying that i would like my daughter to develop her own sense of modesty without me having to tell her "no" all the time.
and men will stare regardless of whats she's wearing/how big her "assets" are

Ah, yes. Of course, modesty can't be forced upon someone. Parents just have a tendency to freak out and be overprotective at times.
Anyways, if I continue this discussion here then Shadha might kick my butt.
Does anyone here wear tinted moisturizer? Is it supposed to provide some coverage for scars or light marks?

I started using l'oreal's skin genesis products, it's light reflective but that does not cover anything but apparently it goes deep into your skin to strengthen skin matrix and help skin cell regeneration. I'll let you know if that helps at least..
