my eyelids are darker than the rest of my face so cakey ones show up better. and I put on primer first so it goes on better too. I never wear eyeshadow though so I'm not sure if the finished look looks nice or just makes me look like a freak. I'm rimming my eyes with a sparkly navy pencil instead of black (black looks too severe), then putting that darkest shade on the entire lid just til the crease, and some light silver near the brow. I'm wearing a dark gray dress for a party so I wanna match the shadow to it.

So today I discovered a miracle for sorting out rough dry patches under makeup: Almay Moisture Stick:

I bought it just to apply to dry spots when out and about, like a chapstick for the rest of your face really. But I didn't think it was all that cuz it was kinda like vaseline, but less heavy and shiny and sticky.

But this morning I couldnt find my regular moisturising lotion, and I had some really rough dry patches, so I decided to rub the moisture stick all over my cheeks . Then I just rubbed it into my skin so it didnt stay shiny or sticky, applied MAC Primer on top ( love it).

Then for a really natural everyday look: Applied with a big buffer brush(/bronzing brush)
Mac Studio Fix Powder,
Lightly applied Bourjois Rose Ambre blush
Then dusted over with Mac Select Sheer Powder to set

Using the moisture stick also ended up giving a glowy/dewy soft finish instead of just a dull matte finish...

Result: healthier natural looking complexion.

I have really bad acne marks and different-colour-in-different-areas skin- so my end result might be what some peoples starting point looks like , but for me it was much better than what my skin normally looks like.

The things I used give a light-medium coverage, but I’m assuming, if you apply Studio Fix Fluid on top of the primer first, with a buffer brush, then you can have the semi-natural look but with better/full coverage. I’ve yet to try it out .

This buffer brush thing is amazing. Cept mine cost £8 and the fibres fall out and little peices break off and get stuck on my face! If I wasn't trying to be save money I woulda bought a branded one, like the Jemma Kidd one for £10. But now I'm gonna have to get a better one so I woulda spent £18 all together :cheap:

So I usually jsut use my cteaphil to remove the make up and cleanse. But when I to tone my face make-up was still coming off.....I repeated THREE times. So I finally went to grab some rubbing alcohol. And the make up was still there... kinda freaked me out. I returned all my recently purchased foundation/primer/powder. But now my face is all STUPID again.....anyone else had this experience?!

cetaphil doesn't remove makeup well. I usually wash my face with cetaphil in the morning since its makeup free. I use the tea tree scrub from the body shop to remove make up, then exfoliate sometimes with sugar afterwards. I'll use a toner to remove any access makeup. Have you tried using a makeup remover?

So, I've concluded that I don't like make-up and make-up doesn't like me. [Except for Kohl/Eye-Liner]

I tried this face blush thing on for the first time, and I barely used it.

The next day I had rash on my face.

I've lost my 'Morello Cherry' lipstick from No. 7. That was my favourite
So today had to be a 'Sheer Rosebud' day instead - but I don't like that one as much.

I really need some new makeup.

I use neutrogena's makeup remover, works pretty well and has some non-oily moisturizers so it doesn't dry your face. It's a bit greasy at first, but then it goes away and my face is prone to dryness so I still moisturize afterwards. I try to wash at least as possible since it doesn't help and actually hurts my face. Bleh.

i realized recently how much i looooove blush. i think the reason why i never liked it before is because i didn't know how to use it, lol (imagine two pink streaks on the face). but i got a nice contouring brush and big fluffy brush, and am now addicted. my favs are NARS orgasm and estee lauder rose nuance. has anyone found a good cream blush that blends nicely?

some of the products that are mentioned seem nice. but i think i'm too lazy/busy to even use most of the stuff i already have so i'm gonna have to resist the temptation to splurge. the one thing i could use though would be an eye-shadow primer. i'll try to keep the urban decay one in mind. maybe our paths will cross one afternoon while i'm on my way to work or grocery shopping...

Assalamualaykum,
Can anyone reccomend a good concealer? I have the Mac Studio Fix one which I hate. Its meant to be creamy and give good coverage, but it seems to get stuck on any little rough spots and look flaky and gross. Also I dont think it gives great coverage, and it highlights my larger pores on my cheeks right next to my nose .
