you guys should try guerlain's foundation. It's one of the most popular brands used for arabs and it matches my skin tone perfectly. I have a weird tone too...olivy/whitish.

I never thought of my self as fair, so I was kind of surprised when she said it. But when I got home, I noticed that it does look like someone tried painting a golden shade over my skin but the lighter shade still shines through from below. If that made any sense lol. What exactly is olive skin tone? I rather go a shade darker for foundation than a shade lighter.

Where do you get it? is it a heavier coverage or lighter?

Olive tone is between fair and dark. I guess you could call it Wheatish.

There's also light, medium, and dark olive toned shades.

Why don't you guys try foundation/powders by prescriptives. They custom blend their colors to match your skin tone. Its usually at every major department store.

I'm definitely not olive. By North American white people standards I'm definitely very fair but like, I'm not pale. I hope soon I won't need foundation anymore
I'm stickin to mineral makeup for now though because other foundation is not really helping to heal. The best I can do I guess is mix light and fairly light by bare minerals.

Hehe, you can't see my neck anyway so it's not like it'll look off or anything

Bismillah.

Nordstrom might have it. In Canada, the Bay sells it. Those are the only distributors I am aware of in north america. It's a really difficult brand to get here, which is annoying, but it's worth it.

As for heavy/light, it's neither really- they have more than one type - a creamy one, a liquid one, a creamy liquid one. i just find that it blends in with your skin and 'becomes one' so it doesnt even look like you have foundation. As the day goes on- it actually looks better - cuz it has more time to settle and blend.

We don't have a nordstrom here, but I think sephora has it. Its expensive, almost $60 I'm going to check it out the next time I go to sephora. I also want to check out prescriptives at macys.

yah it is pricey...the one i use is 80$ (has extra moisturizer in it and spf/anti aging which is better given the climate i live in). but it lasts me a full year usually cuz u dont need much and the way it looks...it's sooo worth it. When it comes to foundation, concealer, bronzer, and eye shadow bases - they beat out the rest of the market. I also like their perfumes.

I got the Maybelline 7X mascara the other day. I would have to say it's pretty good but then again i think a lot of Maybelline's mascara's are good. The define a lash works well for me.

I stopped at the Clinique make up counter this weekend to look at lip glosses. I tried on this awesome sheer lip gloss in Mango (color), I dont remember what it was called but it was $13 or $13.50 I think??

Anyway inshallah I'm gonna go back and get it when they're having their special where they give you a free makeup kit if you spend at least $22 or something.. I wanted it right then and there but hey, $13's a bit expensive for ONE lip gloss. I can wait.

Time for class!
