but alhumdulilah, within a month it works total wonders, its a two month course, though. but you have to go to the doc and get it prescribed...but really i totally reccomend it.

Used it for two to three months; and when I stopped it came back.

Vitamin E Oil doesn't work on everyone. It didn't do anything for me. And I suggest testing it out somewhere on your face like under your ear lobe because a few FPH'ers were complaining that it gave them tiny red bumps.

Yea vit E didnt work either..the effects were the opposite.
So far the best treatment for me is excercise, eating healthy and drinking lots of water..after I workout I use a mask which is nice because Im giving myself a mini facial. I dont really use any acne products..just a scrub (clinique exfoliating scrub) and a light moisturizer (also by clinique).

Re: Acne!
Acne is very annoying and at time depressing.
Thats why its important to not equate self worth with looks...
When I was younger I use to try so many different products, in the end they made matters worse My step mom always says "The girls in Pakistan (and countries where many cosmetics are not available) have better skin than American girls because they dont tamper with it as much". Now Im trying to use products with minimalist ingredients and my skin is better.

Re: Acne!
I've been Jihading against acne since my early years. MashaAllah, I'm fortunate that my blemishes diminish rather quickly and that I don't scar. Having hyperhidrosis just compounds matters though. I wash prone areas twice a day and apply medication twice a day as well. This works best for me. After awhile, I would have to switch up medication for my face would become immune to it. A part of me is beginning to seriously consider birth control pills to help in this dilemma. I'm just afraid that my weight will change for the worse. Ah.

Re: Acne!
Birth control pills are only associated with a 5 lb wt change, anything more than that isnt due to the pills, rather due to other factors.
Also if you can help it, i would strongly suggest against taking antibiotics for long periods of time. resistance is a big issue these days.
Facial scrubs are ok, but no more than once a week. If you scrub all the oils from your face off, the glands will try to overcompensate and produce an excess of oil, fueling the vicious cycle.
Proactive seems to work, but its kind of expensive. Anyone have any experience with that Tea Tree oil facial wash from the body shop?

Re: Acne!
I've had it since i was 12- the first thing they prescribed was zineryt(zynerit?). topical application, it was like a fluid that dries up. you have to use it for 5 weeks in a row and it worked. and every time i stopped using it they came back.
one time i didnt use it for a bout 2 months, and then tried it again, but i'd become immune to it.
so they prescribed a gel called duac. that worked pretty fast. then i stopped using it for two months. they came back. then i tried it again and had an allergic reaction. i looked like a tomato.
so then they prescribed skinoren-cream. that made me itch really bad so i couldnt use that.
so then they prescribed erythromycin antibiotics. they didnt make any difference.
im excercising and eating healthier. i dont eat much fried food, or junk anymore. doesnt seem to be making much difference either. i mean its not as bad as it used to be...i get like one new spot a week probably. its just the old ones arent going anywhere either.
and i hate my doctors. most of them dont even look at my skin properly, they just prescribe whatever.

Re: Acne!
Accutane is expensive but works wonders. Its mostly reserved for severe acne. I managed to persuade my dermatologist in prescribing it even though my acne was nowhere severe. Hey, they dont care, as long as they get their patients coming back every month with a fat check. The only downside is the monthly labs and severe dryness and that just means you load up on aveeno and beeswax lip treatment.
I tried minocycline, tazorac (helped but came back), and every other anti-acne stuff you can think of.. nothing was as good as accutane.
