IB's project car
For a while I've been meaning to get my hands on a car and do it up from top to bottom. I lucked into a great 95 integra RS. It's perfect for this seeing as under the hood it's in mint condition, clutch is great and aside from a new cat I haven't needed to do any major repairs. Plus it came with a full system.
So this summer is about some cosmetic stuff. I'll start with fixing the rust and painting, then slamming the car. I'm going learn how to cut and weld properly from my body shop guy and properly prep the whip for a 4 stage paint job. Lowering isn't too hard to do but I don't have the right equipment so I don't mind dropping $150 to get it professionally done.
I'll post pics from the office after getting a chance to get my tags edited out. Gotta run.
Anyone else have a car they worked/are working on? Post em up!
Edit: finally got a chance to upload some pics
What you can't see -- passenger side fender has a nasty dent in it that's rusted out, so I'm replacing it with a new fender.
Typical Honda cancer around the wheel wells.
Paintjob in 2-3 weeks.
Lowered in a month.
I can't wait

H&R sport springs 1.75F 1.25-1.5R and tokico hp shocks.
According to a few people I've sought advice from adjustable height coilover springs don't hold up after a couple of winters.
Cops are already following me around because of the repuation integra drivers have in my area. No cat would mean tickets everyday lol.

i have plans of doing some stuff to my 01 accord in the summer when i get some extra cash. then again, the way things are looking, it might be a while before i can do anything serious to it besides bolt-ons.
but yeah, keep this thread updated.

Nice.. It depends on what kind you get to some extent. Stainless (vs galvanized) helps a lot with bad winters, so does raising the car for the winter. I just started doing mods to my car.. I really want a set of KW V3s, but they're expensive & I have a lot of other stuff going on at the moment. So I'm probably gonna be responsible & hold off on them.

Yeah, you're probably gonna wind up with tickets anyway.. it's hard to keep from flogging those things, it's how they're meant to be driven. I strongly recommend a Valentine V1, it'll pay for itself.

This summer strictly cosmetic. Next summer performance. By then I'll have picked up another car to use as a driver and I can turn this into a track only ride.

Re: IB's project car
I just started modding my car (I've only had it for a few weeks)
So far all I've done is replace my clutch delay valve w/ a bored out one (did this Monday). It's made shifts much smoother. I also have the OEM blackline taillights.
Adding in the next couple of weeks -
18" OEM 162 sport package rims (I'll keep the 17" sport package wheels for winter)
OEM short shift kit (on order)
OEM //M shift knob (on order)
OEM Aluminum Pedals
OEM chrome exhaust tips (considering blacked out .. not sure if it'd look good on my car, which is dark metallic gray)
Summer tires for the 18" wheels - either PS2s or Eagle F1s
All around tints
Vacuum line opening for more constant utilization of second exhaust (golf tee mod)
Valentine V-1
I'm considering doing rear fogs, but that seems kind of pointless/unnecessarily flashy.
I might add a Split Second Turbo Tuner as well. Still trying to decide between that & Dinan flash. The Dinan flash is ~$1500 more than the SSTT, but is an ECU reprogram instead of a piggyback (adjusts more than just boost), offers better performance, and preserves the warranty.
(Hopefully) within the next few months iA -
Dinan Stage 2 flash (unless I go with the SSTT)
Dinan IC
KW V3 coilovers

yeah, ALHAMDULILLAH - i almost got the automatic.
the only complaints i have (now that the CDV is gone) is that the throws are a bit long and it's a bit notchy. the BMW short shift kit + //M shift knob should fix that. aside from that, the transmission+engine are a sweet combo.

Re: IB's project car
are you planning on autocrossing your car? does anyone here autocross?
i have a bit of experience, and am considering some driving instruction and a real event next weekend (26th).. they start at 8 am though, which sort of sucks.

I don't think I'll go the autocross route. A year from now I think I'll like to have done an engine swap to put a gsr engine in there with a machined block, intercooler and turbo. Fastest lap is what I'm after.
