Re: Hybrid Cars
I like the Prius. In Victoria this summer, I was struck by an amazing phenomenon coming from the conservative bastion that I do... people who actually care about the environment! The fact that 99% of all taxis there were hybrid cars was pretty cool.

Not everyone. Me for instance...
I ride a pure petroleum-free vehicle. It runs on cereal and ice cream and what ever I choose to eat before operating it. It's engine is muscular and faint inducing (to those who witness it). Hybrids are for the lazy donchaknow

The next generation Prius is due in 2009, and it's supposed to have a minimum of 100 mpg. Also, the new Prius will come in different body styles instead of the wagon. However, I have no idea what it will look like. I hear they're going to get rid of the controversial "futuristic" look of the Prius and move to something more conservative like the Accord.

I actually like the wagon look. I currently drive a 2008 Honda Fit (another gas saver type car).
But 100 Mpg sounds sick! I find that hard to believe.

Well, I'm sure that the current Prius's 50 mpg was hard to believe when it first came out in 2004, but people are used to it now.

Chevrolet Silverado Hybrid.
The same powerful Silverado, but now achieving 25 mpg.
Also, the Cadillac Escalade hybrid. 400 hp but achieving at least 26 mpg:
Also, a hybrid is in the works for the Buick Enclave:
