In Our Area I-270 is 55mph should be 60mph. I-95 is 65 which i think is fine.

Raised considerably! If only we could have an autobahn here in the states! Or at least on the freeway raise it a good 20 mph or so.

80mph would be an acceptable speed limit - 90 would be even better.

im all for raising the limit. i think slow cars are more of a hazard on the freeway than fast ones.

If you got rid of them entirely, then everybody would be going different speeds. At least when you have a speed limit, most people are in the same ball-park. 'Cept for the slower drivers.

I think in km though, so I'd say 120-130 would be a good number. 100 km/h, which is the existing speed limit here on most highways, is a little too slow.

And they're really cracking down now on offenders here 'cause of this new law we have. People who go 50 over get their cars towed and impounded for a week, their license is suspended for a week also and they're being fined lots (between 2 to 10,000 dollars). But so many people have been caught and they're realizing that everybody speeds. At least I hope they're realizing that, so then they'll raise the limits.

But then if we're gonna raise the speed limit on highways, we should raise them on the local roads too. 'Cause if you get off the highway doing 140, then have to go 60 on local roads, that kinda sucks. So let's change the 60 to an 80 too. Obviously not for residential areas though. Those are fine at 40. Don't want any kids getting run over now.

The worst I have done is going 145 mph in 60 mph limit road(not normal highway). And once going 150 mph in 65 mph limit road(in traffic in the city). I didn't get caught and I didn't get in trouble. After so many speeding tickets and wrecks I think it's not worth of speeding anymore. So lately at most I go like 10-15 mph over the limit and sometimes I just drive with the speed limit.

i think they can keep the speed limit the same...just dont pull anyone over :P

I'd say 70-80. Not higher than that. I saw too much of the consequences of speeding on my trauma rotation. Many who survive end up with a trach and PEG, +/- ventrics. Don't even get me started on donor cycles.

I've apparently been hanging around too many motorcyclists who ride at the track - I think it's fine as is... 110 kph in the day and 100 at night. When it comes to speed, save it for the track.
