I'm planning on learning how to ride in the spring. I think the bike I'll start out with will be a Suzuki SV650. I've heard it's a good beginner bike, but still fun once you're an accomplished rider.

Anyone else here ride? Care to share your experiences, knowledge, or opinions?

Yeh... it's probably the most dangerous thing I've ever done, but it's lots of fun. It definitely makes going to work in the morning a whole different experience.

Just make sure you don't skimp on the armor.

Driving motorcycles runs in my family.

My dad used to ride a motorcycle when he was young, and my uncle died on one in a crash.

Couple of years ago I used to ride a friend's 1200cc Yamaha up and down in Orangeville, but if I were to buy one today, it would be a Harley cruiser:

When I told my mom about it, she laughed but her eyes were saying "if you buy it I'll kill you" ... which is the same thing my last fiancee said.

salam,

I ride a moped, which is a mini motorbike. It's vital that you always wear a helmet when you ride, and other protective clothing like armoured jacket (protects shoulder / elbows), gloves, and even shin-pads are good for safety. The jacket could have reflective parts to make you visible to other road-users, or you could wear a yellow reflective bib over the top.

wasalam

You sound like my husband. I am counting down the years till I get mine. I don't plan on getting one until after I graduate, a gift to myself yay.

My brother just got one a few weeks ago. Gorgeous and fun. I believe it's an 08 but I heard they are already coming out with the 09s...ahahaha sucker.

Yeah if I was younger I'd get a Hayabusa and rip it at 400 km/h ... but now I'm too laid back for that.

Which is why I'd get that cruiser, if it weren't for family.

You're never too old for that, man. I'm the same age as you (older by a bit, actually) and the need for speed lives strongly within me.

I would, however, consider a BMW K1200 over the Hayabusa. That is a beautiful, beautiful bike.

Dude, all the women who know me and my family's history with motorcycles are afraid of the blood effect [khoon ka 'asr] so that's why I wouldn't go for a Hayabusa even though I know I'd love it.

You have no idea how much I'd love to flip the birdie to mamoo jaan and then just floor it and speed away, laughing my head off.

I would prefer BMW K1200 to Hayabusa.
Last year I was about to buy a bike with 600 or 650 cc engine. Like they say 'a good bike for beginner'. Before I bought the bike I wrecked my car so I had to buy another car.
For people who like speed motorbike should be prohibitted. I have seen a lot of people around who died in bike crashes.

Four wheels are better than two. Two wings are better than four wheels. Get a PPL and then buy a cheap Cessna.

Plus if you're flying and you ever spot Bush, you can crashland your way to the seventh level of paradise.
