To be honest I like SOB but I wouldn't say Daron is a fantastic songwriter. He's pretty lazy.

i like "elect the dead" alot better... based on my initial listening of SOB's new album id say serj is the superior songwriter.. so SOAD would be nothing without serj!
in the end, it all comes down to personal preference

How so? I dont think its laziness, more like "Ive done some amazing songs, why waste all my talent when I can keep making album after album"
I think his riffs are great, have you seen his guitar lesson thing on youtube  I think hes high or something in it.

I feel the total opposite actually. I was not impressed with a single solitary song on Serj's album. None of them are memorable or stood out. However, every song on the SOB album is unique and interesting. Give the SOB album some more spins, believe me it will start to grow on you.
