Abu Hazim replied, “Because you have built and established this world and you have destroyed your Aakhirah, so you hate to go from what you have established to what you have destroyed.”

I found this good bachata by Aventura, but I was a little hesitant putting it up because all of the youtube montages are full of American soldiers (it's a song about a soldier), and I know some might be a little sensitive about it. But, I found a live version - you've just got to wait till it buffers past 1:10mins and the music starts, no army photos involved. And it's a really great song.
It's got some classical chick doing funky things on her violin.

And then there's this salsa I heard last night - i feel like it starts off a little slow, but it's got a great hook. I think it'd be a good one to do some On2 (nueva york style) with.

Yeh! Didn't I say thanks?? I'm so sorry Well gracias chica I appreciate it.
I'm in Vancouver right now and there are tons of latinos. I went to my first latin social last saturday, it was pretty cool (with a hawaiian theme haha). Everyone out here seems pretty good on the floor.

Re: Caribbean/Latin Music
Frig... I heard a really great song on the weekend, and I tried to dig it up on Youtube. They haven't got, not in salsa rendition anyway, (and the only one that hasn't been taken down is being lip-synched by some dude in drag )
Anyway, Amame o dejeme if anyone comes across it.
I got shot down for my first time asking a girl to dance last weekend. She couldn't even find an excuse to let me down easy, she was just like... uh, eh, uh... sorry.
But then these people saw me and another girl dancing and they were kind of... cheering us on from the sides.. the guy was all "dude, that was intense". So it was all good.

Re: Caribbean/Latin Music
has anyone seen Love in the time of Cholera?
sucky movie, but the soundtrack of the movie is pretty good. some of the songs are by Shakira.
not a huge fan of hers, but the lyrics were good
my favorite track so far is Pienso en Ti - Shakira

Re: Caribbean/Latin Music
Does anyone like Mana? (there's supposed to be a little accent over the last 'a')
I kind of think of them as Mexico's U2, they're like the most famous band from there.
