I read If I Should Speak, the ending was predictable and wasn't original but it was still a good reminder.

I haven't read Footsteps, but I did read the first two novels by Umm Zakiyyah.

I read If I should Speak, but didn't bother reading the other two. Are her other two books any good? Sequels usually end up being boring so I lose interest.

I read If I should Speak-- [as ilikemyscarf said] it wasn't original, it was predictable, and being that, a boring read and a total disappointment.

Re: HaS AnYoNe EvEr ReAd .....
I'm sorry that you guys didn't think the first book was good, but in my opinion the second two books are excellent. I couldn't predict a lot of things that happened next. And by the looks of it, there should be another book after Footsteps. Even if to some they are predictable, we can all agree that they are good reminders for a lot of things that muslims today have forgotten. Although, they may exsist, I have found few fiction books with Muslim themes, that are closest to the Sunnah of the Prophet (SAW). Some are so contradictory, and confusing. I think Umm Zakiyyah tries her best to explain Islam to Muslims and Non Muslims. She has such a great prospective on different cultures, and faiths. I applaude her for her attempts to spread the message of Islam.
I URGE EVERONE TO READ HER BOOKS!

I agree completely. I was also really unimpressed by her writing style.. it seemed as if a 17 year old wrote the book.
but I guess I should give her props, since that was one of the first fiction books written for muslim teens.
