Re: What Are You Reading?
Anyone read The Confession of Fitzwilliam Darcy? I saw it at the library last week. Didn't pick it up cause I figured it could possibly butcher my image of Austen's Pride and Prejudice. My English prof already did that though, years ago .

A lot of it deals with key issues in Australia and Australian Press over the last few years (since say 2000), but it is a case-study after the general theoretical bases have been covered in the introductory chapters. It also has a lot of good information regarding the Arab-Muslim community here in Australia.
I guess the short answer is "yes" ( ), but its methodological base and introduction has a wider import imho.

I'm not sure about an animation, there might be, i know there used to be a series. I'm not sure if it was a BBC production. Might check it out after i've finished the book.

That sounds hilarious. Darcy's confessions? I wonder if that would be a sordid account of how he was a miserable old baffoon and how he turned into a loving bud once a hot woman came along
Have you seen the BBC production of Pride and Prejudice? it's very enjoyable

It's from Darcy's perspective, according to the blurb. All about his relationships, with his sister, Wickham [?], Elizabeth, Bingley, and others.
I'll check out the BBC production, I heard a lot of good reviews for it.

Am currently reading The Zahir. Already dislike the main character. I hardly enjoy books in which I dislike the protagonist.

Re: What Are You Reading?
Ooh that sounds interesting. Have you ever read the prequel to Jane Eyre (not written by Bronte, it was after her time)? It's written in the perspective of the mad ex-wife who lives in the attic. It's pretty good, i don't think i appreciated it as much when i was younger.
I'm now reading Pygmalion by Bernard Shaw.
