Re: What Are You Reading?
Catcher in the Rye is definitely how i did not expect it to be. It's written from the viewpoint of a young boy in the States who doesn't quite fit into his family or the social class of his family. Like Steinbeck, Salinger uses language/dialect to make it feel more real. I thought that it wasn't the best book i've read but it addressed some interesting issues for young people and it is a well-known text so i'd read it, it's tiny anyway. You'll finish it in 2 days.

Re: What Are You Reading?
I finished reading The Space Between Us by Thrity Umrigar
A novel about a wealthy woman and her downtrodden servant, offers a revealing look at class and gender roles in modern day Bombay.
A great read!

A Thousand Splendid Suns
"Boys, Laila came to see, treated friendship the way they treated the sun: its existence undisputed; its radiance best enjoyed, not beheld directly."

i love foriegn authors
i like nonfiction books but easily get bored with them because the style of writing is not entertaining
any suggestions for me???

Why a nun can be covered from head to toe and she's respected for devoting herself to God, but then a Muslimah does that, she's considered "oppressed"? When a Christian kills someone, religion is not mentioned, (i.e Ireland and the IRA) But when a Muslim is charged with a crime, it's Islam that goes to trial? But then again, why is it after all that, Islam is still the fastest growing religion in the world?

Sherlock Holmes, and books written by P.G Wodehouse should get you through the summer.
Project Gutenberg is a project to distribute tons of bookes online so you can read them on your computer. Check em out (they also include Wodehouse's stories ):
