blah blah, those books were really short. This last one was like 750 pages. If you only read the first two books, then I could see why you think it's the same thing in every book.
There are people out there who think the Lord of the Rings is dumb too. You're forgiven.

Modernist and Fundamentalist Debates in Islam: A Reader, Edited by Mansoor Moaddel and Kamran Talattof...
A good source to see various example articles written by people from back in the day such as Muhammad 'Abduh, 'Ali 'Abd al-Raziq, Mawdudi, Qutb and others to compare and contrast.

Re: What Are You Reading?
As-Salaamu 'ALaykum,
I just finished reading 'Inside the Wire' by Erick Saar.
Erik Saar is a white -arabic speaker that translates interrogations at Gitmo. Its about his experience with the detainees and how he feels towards them when the war first started and how he changed throughout his 6-month day at the Camp.

I read it for the first time about 6 months ago and I have to say, I didn't like it at first but began to appreciate it more the further I read.
At the moment I'm reading "Anna Karenina". It's entertaining, robust prose. I love the whole section on the mowing and the hay-making. I'm in love with Levin as a character - I really want him to marry Kitty. I like the way Tolstoy plays with our perceptions of Oblonsky, Vronksy and Alexei Alexandrovich by showing us different facets of their characters. Nobody's black-and-white.
