Hyderabad: In an exclusive interview to CNN-INDIA, the father of Hyderabad blast suspect, Abdul Wahid, has said that he will disown his son Shahid Bilal -- who is the commander of Harkat-ul Jehad India (HuJI) -- if Bilal is found guilty of masterminding the Hyderabad twin blasts.
"I swear by god, Shahid has never contacted me. Why are you bothering me?" Abdul Wahid wanted to know from the police and the media.
He said that nothing has been proven against his son, and that it was irresponsible of the police to declare that Bilal is a blast suspect. He also added that his son had studied in Urdu medium and knew nothing of technology.
"They say he's killed so many people. If it's not proven, how can you declare it?" Abdul Wahid asked, adding, "He doesn't know technology, so how can he do something like this and get away with it?"
Wahid also said that other Muslims from his community were being unfairly targetted.
"Why is the police bothering other young Muslim men because of my son? If he's wrong, shoot him," he said.
It is reported that Bilal went to Saudi Arabia in 2002-03 for training and it is suspected that his contacts are spread in Hyderabad.
The police has also said that Bilal had connections with the terror outfits, Jaish-e-Muhammad and Lashkar-e-Toiba in the past.
Bilal was also the key accused in the Mecca Masjid blasts, which happened in May, in Hyderabad.
