To me, it seems that both the Republican and Democratic primaries a major issue unspoken issue has been the role of the Israel Lobby in US policy.

I am getting the eerie sense that this election is really about Israel and the Jewish lobby. There is a battle going on between the Lobby and those who have caught on to it. Ron Paul was consistently polling at 7-8%. Obama has brazenly appointed non-Israel Lobby foreign policy advisers (he and they are not anti-Israel like the Lobby is trying to make people believe). The bulk of the Lobby coalesced around Rudy first and now McCain. The more liberal ones all went for Hillary.

Obama the other day said being pro-Israel doesn't mean youhave to be pro-Likud and the Hillary people went ape **** and that's what prompted the release of the photo and the Newsweek hit piece.
Walt/Mearsheimer, Jimmy Carter, and others opened a pandoras box.
