Is that all he meant? Here I was giving Imam Shafi more credit than he deserved. I thought MAYBE just maybe he understood ad hominem attacks were a logical fallacy. Or perhaps he realized that there is a group of nutcases within the Sunnis that have a strong hate for Ali. Silly me.
