Default shaykh tahir al qadri

salaam

i am researching scholars so i can find one to follow or listen to their teachings. islam is very very diverse(much more then i thought astagfirullah) and i need to set my eyes on one sheikh at a time.

so i heard about tahir al qadri. he seems to be a knowledgeable man. and what brought my attention was a miracle that supposedly happened. he celebrates malid, and has a big conference w/ hundreds of thousands of people every time. last year he had some say 500,000 people.

well, last year at his speech, he was speaking about the name of the prophet. and he said that he wish he had a marker board so he could spell it. then, i guess what happened was Muhammad's name appeared in the sky!

YouTube - The Word MUHAMMAD in the sky -Milad un Nabi - caught on video

in front of 500,000 people. so it seems to be a miracle. of course i have not investigated any critical views yet because it has not been widely published in english so i guess if there are any critical views they are in urdu.

so i thought well this miracle happened so i should follow this scholar. so i got to speaking to some brothers and sisters, and they were shocked. they were like no not him, he claims to be sheikh ul islam, to have spoken to angel gabriel, and he is close to the shia's and likes music and dancing etc.

so what are your thoughts on this scholar?(who i thought was a really cool scholar)
maybe the milad miracle is not a miracle but a hoax? anyone know any sites refuting it?
