i'm confuzzled.
- i don't hold the mushaf with my hands, unless there's a cloth inbetween. i've also heard of girls who will wear gloves when they hold the quran to recite... as there's cloth between your hands and the book/pages, there's no concern of actually having to "touch" the quran w/o wudu
- i hadn't heard of the "no reciting quran" rule until i joined islamica. it strikes me as odd because in my sunday morning quran classes, we used to recite quran even when we had our periods, but never actually touched the book (a friend would hold it and turn the pages etc for us). at the very least, i've been told it's permissible to recite the quran if you're afraid that failure to do so will result in you forgetting. Allahu alim; i would recite, if so inclined
- the opinion i've most heard is that it's impermissible for a women to stay in the mussallah area of the masjid, unless just passing through (though i know a lot of women in my masjid refuse to do even that). the rest of the masjid (teaching areas, hallways, kitchen, etc.) are still permissible so long it's not a designated "prayer only" area.
Allahu alim. obviously, there's varying opinion on the issue, and i would assume at least some of it is based on different madhabs. i'd follow the scholars whom you consider most knowledgeable. may Allah swt accept the actions we commit with best intentions and forgive the mistakes we make both knowingly and unknowingly. ameen
