Well, if you're a sympathiser of the Terrorist West then know that Muslims can support anyone that gives a hard time to the Evil West. Americans in particular are not happy with Iranians at least apparently, though they are still helped by Iranians on a number of issues e.g Iranian support to the check on insurgency in Iraq. The shia government of Iraq is backed by Iranians and they (the shia government) are allies of Americans against sunnis or their resistance. One way or another, the Terrorist Americans are indeed helped by Iranians.
In the recent past, Iranians were backing Americans against Taliban, even before the Afghan invasion, they (Iranians) were the part of American plan to attack Afghanistan before 9/11. Iranians have always backed Northern Alliance and with the help of Indian and Russians they have supported anti-Taliban forces because they are hard core shias that can't tolerate hard core sunnis (Taliban e.g) even if they live in peace.
This shia-sunni strife has always been availed by the Evil West.

And if you're a sympathiser of shi'ism then know that sunnis having sound knowledge of religion don't consider Iranians as part of Muslim Ummah. They don't believe Iranians are the followers of Islam rather a new religion which was developed by the ethnic rivals of Arabs, the Persians, through a period of time that started just after the conquest of Persia by Umar ibn Khattab radiyallahu anhu.
To me, Iranians are okay, if they mind their own business and don't poke their nose in everything that's related to sunnis, then obviously, I wouldn't care about who the heck they are.
