I just watched it, I liked it. Yeah Back To the Future's explanation of time travel sounded more convincing, but I guess they didn't want to sound too futuristic so the system had to be flawed with its weak signals and out of range, it sounded like a bad cell phone company. That car chase/goggle scene was added just for the sake of having a car chase in there. I guess his agent friend guy wasn't in the parallel time route while he does end up being in one which is why he ends up as he does in the end. *spoiler* which means when they bring up the car, his dead body should be inside so it's like what that guy told him would happen. (The one who helps him with that time travel chamber that hamsters couldn't get through).
