We used to have a whole thread on Iqbal back in the day... back when Dream34 wasn't so busy with med school.
I'm reading Anita Diamant's "The Red Tent". I know... several years too late, but I got it off a friend just today. Especially relevant 'cause I'm reading the Pentateuch for my Five Books of Moses class. We're still on Genesis.

K, finished Red Tent. That's what I did today instead of reading for school and doing my assignments.

I loved it. Well, the beginning at least, up until the middle even... ending was kind of disappointing. I was waiting for the catastrophe to come and when it came... oh boy.

Crazy. Joseph is so bastardized though, it made me sad. I was like "This is NOT how it is in the Qur'an, okay?"

But I guess that's the point.
K, got some Frithjof Schuon to read next and then... Shoba De.

And Gabriel Garcia Marqez. And I'm gonna read Fanon too. Ummm....after my assignments. My reading list is becoming a mile long.
