no. it only determines if and when you get hired. the higher the score, the more likely and faster you will get hired. and veterans get an additional 10% automatically. and they only hire people who score 80% and above, because those scorers fill up the jobs fast. one you pass, your name is put on a waiting list. then they call you in for an interview based on your score. first the people who scored the highest and then downards. and no, about the mail carriers. this exam is for the 473 battery. it is for mail carrier, postal clerk, and wharehouse distribution. they all get paid the same,a nd they all have to take the same exam. the exam isnt to determine knowledge, its to determine skill. how fast can you correctly do certain tasks.
