The Americans should withdraw all their troops, and start funneling lots and lots of money into Iraq to help rebuild infrastructure and institutions. The Iraqis should be left to govern themselves. It's patronizing to insist that the Iraqis need us there, otherwise they will implode and start eating each others entrails.
