arabs (or maybe just egyptians) have a saying:

"ana we akhuya 3ala ibn 3amy, wana we ibn 3any 3ala ba2eet el nas."

which translates to:

"my brother and I are against our cousin, my cousin and I are against everyone else."

i.e. no matter how much arabs squabble, we don't want foreigners hanging around.
