Ahlul Sunnah are those of the middle path when it comes to Ahlul Bayt. Ahlul Sunnah does not put Ahlul Bayt on a pedestal that is higher than they should be (e.g better than the prophets, answering yor prayers etc...), this is called ghuloo. Nor does ahlul sunnah curse, or hate ahlul bayt like the nasibis. You give the right to ahlul bayt by showing respect to them (ali, hassan, hussain, aisha, etc...) in the same way you do the other sahabah. We should defend ahlul bayt from the ones who put them above the level in which they deserve (leading to shirk), and we should defend them from those who curse them. There are two extremes as I have stated, and Ahlul Sunnah is that in which is in the middle. Let me know if you speak arabic or have someone that can translate an arabic lecture for you, I have a real good one in regards to this issue.
