Default The official "tooth doctor" thread..

This is a sheer dedication to Dentistry.

Questions/Ranting/Discussions/DentalPhobias/Dentalexperiences are most welcome.

Question:

I thought, I have the stomach to withstand any kind of extraction on anyone. Yesterday, I almost when a 80 year extremely weak elderly man walked in to get his 35 extracted due to Class III mobility. It was not the thought of extraction, but the fact that he was on blood thinner, and whether or not, he can withstand the procedure itself. I become a wuss when it comes to elderly.

Then I get a *cluster of negative thoughts flying in my head* what if it turns into a complex extraction etc..and obiviously, I have observed full mouth extractions, and I never had problems with other healthy macho individuals, its just difficult looking at the elderly people's worri-some innocent faces makes me emotional,.

On personal note, my dad had few of his extracted to get a partial. this whole scenario reminds me of him..

How can I overcome my weakness? PS i am not a dentist, i WORK for one..
