I agree with you. Specifically speaking, the victims did not get a second chance. How bout if that murdered/rapist, truly honestly comes to Islam and converts. How would you feel about that?
To be brutally honest, I don't even believe that they should live long enough to convert. Upon conviction they should be killed. Now, seeing as that isn't the case at the time being- prisoners converting to Islam while locked up, that's sweet and all, but considering the high turn-around rates and the fact that it's quite easy to be a Muslim in a very restricted environment, I'm not impressed nor are my thoughts softened for them. While there are prisoners who leave and do change and some do stay practicing Muslims, those numbers are few and far. And I go back to once a rapist always a rapist. Some may say this is unfair of me...I couldn't care.
